Not Your Mama’s Pill Box

Fab Over 50, a website “where women of substance share their style,” takes a look at MyMedSchedule and the ways it can help prevent medication errors.

The post points out that failure to take medications as directed results in many lives lost and up to $290 billion in additional medical costs per year in the U.S. MyMedSchedule can help solve that problem. The article quotes Dr. Kay Johnston of San Angelo, TX:

“When I asked my patients what medications they were taking, often they’d refer to a jumble of handwritten notes, or nothing at all. When you’re taking 5-10 different pills, that’s just not a good idea. Now I give new patients the mymedschedule.com web address on a little card, and tell them to go home and use it. Hopefully, they’ll use it, and take the schedule to their other doctors as well.”
